About the Committee

The Law Library Advisory Committee is made up of three members who are attorneys at law. The Committee’s responsibility is to select the books and materials to be purchased by the Library System for the Public Law Library.

The members of the Committee must be residents of the City of Newport News are appointed by City Council. Any Newport News attorney interested in serving on the Committee should fill out a Board Bank application.  Board Bank applications are available online. Terms served are for two years. Advisory Committee meetings are held on an as needed basis.
